Back in October, I traveled down to Texas to see my family. During that time I was able to visit Austin for the second time ever, where I met up with 3 different models, 2 of which I had never shot with before. Marissa was the second shoot of the day. Luckily, it was right around lunch time, so we were able to spend a little time eating and chatting before going out to shoot. Marissa was stunning in person. Spend any amount of time shooting different models, and you’ll realize some of them photograph a lot better than they look normally (no offense to any models I’ve shot with, but meant as a compliment to their modeling talent). Marissa however was the kind of model who looks just as stunning in person as she does in photos. Not only that, but she brought a lot of great energy and ideas to the shoot, especially for such a young model who hasn’t been shooting that long. Plus, she was kind enough to make me brownies (I need to do more TFB – trade for brownies – shoots).

At the time of our shoot, I had just recently gotten a new iPhone 4S, and I was itching to try out the new camera, especially the HD video. It had been years since I seriously tried any video work, but I thought it would be a fun experiment. The end result isn’t perfect, and I definitely found the iPhone’s limitations (definitely needed a stabilizer of some sort). But all things considered, I was pretty impressed.
